Taking Cannabis to a Higher Level with Concentrates and Extracts

[This content is intended for adult (19+) readers]

This week marks the second anniversary of cannabis legalization in Canada. And while dried flower was the priority for the first year, this new wave of legalization is bringing new options for Canadians to enjoy.

Enter cannabis concentrates and extracts.

These highly potent formats offer unique attributes that flower does not, including easy, precise dosing and clean, refined flavours.  Concentrates focus on the ingredients in cannabis that matter most to the cannabis connoisseur.

And they’re available in different consistencies from liquid oils to near-solid rosins.

Product options for these extracts have been limited up until now, but Brantford, ON-based FUME Extracts has stepped up creating two new products, which has cannabis connoisseurs everywhere giving a smooth high five.

This is in large part to the Chief Science Officer for Fume Extracts who is behind these new products. Talal Rshaidat is one of Canada’s most revered extraction gurus who has masterfully developed unique innovations to preserve the rare, sought-after terpenes appreciated by connoisseurs.

TR SIgnature ORANGE CKS FULL SPECTRUM OIL

Low and slow processing conditions with C02 to extract a higher percentage of minor cannabinoids that give the oil a true entourage effect. Terpenes extracted (without solvents) then re-integrated at final stage, imparting natural flavours and aromas.

TR Signature dark helmet flower rosin

Single harvest flower rosin extracted without solvents. Complete preservation of terpenes and cannabinoids for maximal flavour profile and entourage effects.

Last week, we were privileged to see first-hand some of the innovative extraction processes at FUME through a Concentrates 101 webinar lead by Talal. Some of the chemistry info went over our heads, but the live demonstration of dried flower being pressed to produce rosin was fascinating, like an episode of ‘How It’s Made’ but for cannabis extracts. Check it out below – we highly recommend it.

The new products are available now through the Ontario Cannabis Store and select retailers in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba
